Express Entry Immigration Draws

The Express Entry arrangement is an online application management arrangement designed to expedite the processing and enhance the economic outcomes of permanent residency applications for Canada, both under federal and select provincial programs.

Eligible applicants who meet the criteria will create a profile in the Express Entry pool, known as an Expression of Interest (EOI).

How Express Entry Works:

Create an Express Entry Profile: Eligible candidates create a detailed profile in the Express Entry arrangement, providing comprehensive information about their qualifications, work experience, language proficiency, and other relevant details.

Submit the Profile in the Express Entry Pool: Once the profile is complete and meets the eligibility criteria for one of the available immigration programs, it is submitted into the Express Entry pool.

Receive an Invitation to Apply: Profiles in the Express Entry pool are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking arrangement (CRS), a points-based arrangement. Those with the highest CRS scores are selected from the pool and issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

Apply for Permanent Residence: Once an applicant receives an ITA, they have a designated period (usually 60 days) to submit a formal application for permanent residency, including supporting documents and fees.

Rounds of Invitations under Express Entry:

Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranked based on their CRS scores, which consider factors like age, education, language proficiency, work experience, job offers, and provincial nominations.

The federal government conducts rounds of invitations at regular intervals throughout the year. During these rounds, the highest-ranking profiles are selected, and individuals receive an ITA to apply for permanent residence. The frequency and size of these draws can vary, depending on Canada's immigration goals and priorities.

The Express Entry arrangement's dynamic nature allows for flexibility and responsiveness in selecting candidates for permanent residency, ensuring that those with the most potential to contribute to Canada's economy and society are invited to apply.
